fim de semana/weekend

Esse fim de semana resolvemos que iriamos sair de casa um pouco, mesmo com todo o calor que estava fazendo la fora. No sabado visitamos os hoteis Luxor e Mandalay. Achamos incriveis! Muito lindos mesmo...A arquitetura e maravilhosa e eles prestam atencao aos MINIMOS detalhes. No domingo, tomamos cafe com um amigo do John (Blake, da Australia) que esta de mudanca p/ San Francisco. De la fomos visitar o famoso parque nacional Red Rock. vc pode ver mais no site http://www.redrockcanyon.blm.gov .Do jeito que eu amo montanhas...estava feita ali! Que lugar espetacular!!! This past weekend we decided to get out of the house for a bit...even with all this heat! On Saturday we visited the Luxor and Mandalay hotels. They are beautiful...amazing architecture! On sunday, we had breakfast with John's friend, Blake(from Australia), he is moving to San Francisco. Then we drove up to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. you can visit the website at: http://www.redrockcanyon.blm.gov/ We had a great time...and took some pictures. see them in album "fim de semana".

Treinadinho!/ Potty Trained

Ethan finalmente virou um homenzinho! Desde ontem ele faz numero 2 no piniquinho e numero 1 no toilet! ;) Esta todo cheio da bola!!! Hoje foi o mais engracado de todos...O banheiro de baixo estava trancado e John tinha acabado de me ligar, enquanto isso Ethan havia tirado a cueca e estava querendo usar o banheiro...Resenha ele dancando e chorando dizendo "rapido mama, eu preciso fazer coco!" ai la fui eu "salva-lo". Daqui a pouco escuto "Vem limpar" vindo la do banheiro (sim, porque eu nao posso ficar no banheiro com ele nao...ele gosta de privacidade!). Bem, estou tao orgulhosa...sei que e coisa de mae e p/ quem nao e deve ta "eca!", mas vcs vao ver so...qdo chegar a vez de vcs! Da uma alegria!!!


Ethan is finally 100% potty trained!! Since yesterday he has been going number 2 in the little potty and number 1 in the toilet. He is soo happy with himself!! Today was the funniest...the downstairs bathroom door was locked for some reason and John had just called me, so I was talking to him in the kitchen. Ethan needed to use the bathroom. So I hear him crying and saying"Quick mama, I need to go poopy!"...he was also doing that cute dance little kids do when they need to go potty...hillarious! I opened the door and waited outside the door(he likes his privacy!) After a little while I hear "Mama, come clean!" hahahahahahahaha Well, I am sooo proud of my little boy...can't even tell you! I know it's a mom thing and for those of you who aren't parents...you must be going "yuck" but you will soon find out, when you have your own buddles of joy, how such little things like this can make your day!

Michelly, Luana e Manu

A vida da mesmo muitas voltas. Depois de muitos anos morando aqui nos EUA, eu reencontro pessoas que fizeram parte de fases maravilhosas da minha vida. Pela internet...mas...Michelly ,que casou, esta morando temporariamente em Louisiana com o Marido, mas ja esta se preparando p/ voltar p/ Brasil. Vai morar em Cuiaba. Ela fez parte da minha epoca de modelo...nos divertimos muito com toda aquela coisa nova e glamourosa..mesmo que em cidade tao pequena. Era legal fazer parte de tanta badalacao...se ver em jornais e tv. Que tempo bom hein amiga? Ela foi mais afundo na profissao dela, eu desisti no meio do caminho p/ vir estudar e futuramente conhecer o homem da minha vida, casar e ter meu baby. Nao vejo Michelly desde 1998 qdo me mudei p/ Santa Barbara; Luana tb esta casada e mora na pensilvania com o marido e os babies(3 cachorrinhos e 2 gatinhos)e Manu, chiquerrima trabalha p/ uma empresa americana de eletricidade no Rio, mas so vive viajando. Luana e Manu foram amigas de escola, estudamos juntas no ultimo e melhor ano colegial...Eramos uma turma muito legal...Nos 3, Giu, Taty, Juliana, Michele, e Amanda Coimbra. Fizemos muita farra juntas...ah que saudades! A Manu tb morava no mesmo condominio que eu, e sempre conversavamos em casa. Nao as vejo desde a despedida da Manu(que estava indo embora p/ Manaus) em dezembro de 1995. Meninas, estou muito feliz que a gente se reencontrou. Sinto um carinho enorme por vcs. Uma vontade enorme de poder abraca-las novamente. Infelizmente estamos um pouco distantes uma das outras...Mas manteremos contato e planejaremos um dia nos ver...beijao p/ vcs!!!


Life takes wide turns sometimes. After so many years living in the USA, I get in touch with some people that were part of such great times of my life:Michelly, Luana e Manu. We talk online, but it works...Let me tell you a bit about them. Michelly, who is now married, is living in Louisiana(with hubby) until the end of july, when she goes back to living in beautiful Brasil, but this time in Cuiaba. She is my model friend...we had a great time with all that glamorous life, even in such small city. It was so much fun to be part of all that excitement... see ourselves in the paper and TV, gosh!! Awesome time, don't you think Mi? She continued on doing modeling while I gave up to come to the US to study. Now I am married to the man of my life and have my wonderful baby, Ethan. I don't see her since 1998 when I moved to Santa Barbara; Luana, who is also married, lives in Pensilvania with her husband and babies(3 dogs and 2 cats) and Manu, works for an american company but lives in Rio, so she is always traveling. Both Luana and Manu were high school friends, It was an amazing year! We were this big group, the three of us, Giu, Taty, Juliana, Michele e Amanda Coimbra. We partied a lot together...a LOT! Miss those great times girls! Manu also used to live in my neighborhood. I don't see them since Manu's gone away party at the end of 1995. Girls, I am sooooo happy that we got to "meet" again. Know that I love you and miss our times together, hope we can get to see each other very soon. kisses..

BEBE LINDO!!!/GORGEOUS BABY!!!

Hoje cortei o cabelo dele que tava uma coisa terrivel...ai resolvemos ir brincar la fora...apesar do calor! Ele ficou tao gracinha de oculos que eu resolvi tirar umas fotos...ve so que lindo!! ;) meu bebe e tao fotogenico...nao sei a quem puxou! Ta a cara do pai....incrivel, nunca vi parecer tanto. Por favor...nos escrevam mais...beijos!



Ethan got a hair cut today...it was sooo long! When we got back we decided to go play outside, even with all this heat! He was so cute with his new sunglasses that I decided to take some pictures....look how adorable! My baby is so photogenic...isn't he? He looks just like daddy, amazing! It's just like looking at John. Anyways guys...write us some more..please!

Novas fotos/ New pictures

Coloquei umas fotos novas nossas. Vi que nao tinhamos fotos de nossa familia(eu, John e Ethan). Tambem coloquei algumas de modelo dele. Logo logo ele estara de volta na agencia...assim que voltarmos p/ California...mal posso esperar!



I put new pictures in the photo album. So now you can see Ethan with his mommy and daddy! Also put some pictures from modeling. Soon we will be back to California...and he will be able to continue his career! ;) hehehe...

Realidade/ Reality

Às vezes nos perguntamos: "O que eu fiz pra merecer
isso?", ou "Por que Deus tinha que fazer isso justo comigo?".Aqui vai uma belíssima explicação.
A filha dizia a sua Mãe como tudo ia errado.Ela não se saiu bem na prova de Matemática, o
namorado resolveu terminar com ela e a sua melhor amiga estava de mudança para outra
cidade. Enquanto isso, sua Mãe preparava um bolo e perguntou se a filha gostaria de um pedaço, e ela disse: É claro mãe, eu adoro os seus bolos.
- Toma, um pouco de óleo de cozinha.
- Credo!
- Que tal então comer uns ovos crus?
- Que nojo, Mãe!
- Quer então um pouquinho de Farinha de Trigo ou Bicarbonato de Sódio?
- Mãe, isso não presta! A Mãe então respondeu:
- É verdade, todas essas coisas parecem ruins
sozinhas, mas quando as colocamos juntas, na medida certa, elas fazem um bolo delicioso! Deus
trabalha do mesmo jeito. Às vezes a gente se pergunta por que Ele quis que nós passássemos por momentos difíceis, mas Deus, quando Ele põe todas essas coisas na ordem exata, elas sempre nos farão bem. A gente só precisa confiar n'Ele e todas essas coisas ruins se tornarão algo fantástico!
Deus é louco por você. Ele te manda flores em todas as Primaveras e o
nascer do Sol todas as manhãs. Sempre que você quiser conversar, Ele vai te ouvir.
Ele pode viver em qualquer lugar do universo, e Ele escolheu o seu coração.

Sometimes we can't help but wonder "What have I done to deserve this?" or :"Why did God do that to me?" Here goes a very interesting explanation... A daughter was just telling her mom how horrible her life turned out to be. She got a bad grade on a math test, her boyfriend just broke up with her and her best friend was moving to another place. The mom was making a cake and asked the daughter if she wanted a piece. And she said:"Of course mom, I love your cakes"
- Here, drink some olive oil.
-Ewwww.
-How about eating some raw eggs?
-that's gross mom
-would you want some flour or butter?
-nooooo!!
The mom then said:"It's true, all this things sound terrible by itself, but when we put them all together, in the right amounts, they make a delicious cake. God works the same way. Sometimes we wonder why He wanted us to go through rough times, but then when he puts all these things in the right order, they will turn out to be the best thing for us. We only need to trust Him and all these bad things will become something amazing! God is crazy for you! He sends you flowers every spring and makes the sun rise every morning. Everytime you wanna talk, he is there to listen. He could live anywhere in the universe, but he chose your heart. And remember: Life may not be the party you hoped for, but while we are here, lets enjoy it and dance to the music! Have a great day!

Bellagio

Hoje eu e Ethan fomos passear pela cidade! Visitamos o hotel Bellagio...que e um ESPETACULO!! Que vontade de ter minha familia brasileira aqui p/ mostra-los tudo isso!!! Meu pai iria amar...cada coisa lindissima! Estacionamos dentro do hotel mesmo...e muito legal...la nao se tem nocao se e manha, tarde ou noite...pessoa jogando o tempo todo e o cheiro de cigarro e insuportavel! Mas nos divertimos...Ethan gostou muito de um jardim que tem la...com varios baloes, flores de todas as cores e muita gente! Vejam algumas fotos no photo album...beijao!



Today, Ethan and I went downtown. We visited the Bellagio hotel...which is just amazing! I wish I had my brazilian family here to be able to show them all this great places. My dad would absolutelly love it all! Inside the hotel you have no idea if it is day or night...people gambling everywhere and the smell of cigarretes is just gross. Besides that, we enjoyed ourselves. Ethan really liked a big yard they have with ballons, flowers of all colors and tons of people. See some of the pictures in the photo album...beijo!

Amigos/Friends

Resolvi colocar umas fotos de amigos no "photo album". Infelizmente nao tinha fotos de todos vcs amigos queridos...mas nao significa que nao pense muito em todos! Cada um tem seu lugarzinho especial dentro do meu coracao. Amo cada um pelo que sao e por tudo que significam p/ mim. Eu nao seria nada sem minha familia e meus amigos ... sinto saudades e uma vontade enorme de poder compartilhar de todos os minutos de suas vidas. Mas saibam que mesmo aqui de longe estarei sempre sendo sua fa numero um e rezando p/ que todos os seus sonhos se realizem! LOVE YOU ALL!!!



I decided to post some pictures of Friends in the "photo album". Unfortunately, I don't have everyone's pictures, my dear friends...but that doesn't mean I don't think about you. Every one of you has a special place in my heart. I love you for who you are and for what you mean to me. Ethan em casa!/Ethan at home!

Ethan estava tao bonitinho de laranja que resolvi tirar umas fotinhos dele pela casa...ele saiu fazendo pose e eu so clicando...vai ver ele tava com saudades dos trabalhos dele de modelo la em hollywood! Faz falta mesmo...saudade de dirigir por la e leva-lo p/ tanto lugar legal. Uma cidade tao cheia de energia...pessoas tao bem dispostas...ah que saudade da California! obs.: tem mais fotos dele no "photo album".



Ethan looked so good on this orange outfit that I decided to take some pictures of him. He actually started posing for the camera...sooo cute! I bet he misses his job as a model in Hollywood. I know I do! I loved to drive in Los Angeles and take him to all those cool places. Such cool and exciting city...full of possibilities...energy! Gosh...I really miss California! ps.: there are more pictures of him on the "photo albums".

Finalmente caiu!/ It finally came off!

Uma semana antes de virmos embora, Ethan machucou a unha do dedao na casa da Tia Silvinha, la no condominio. Foi feio mesmo, o dedao ficou inchando e ele chorou a beca! Depois que chegamos a unha aos poucos foi se soltando e eu colocando band-aid p/ nao machucar ainda mais porque ele nao queria que eu ficasse contando as partes que estava arrebitando como meu pai havia falado p/ fazer. Ate que hj...FINALMENTE, ela caiu! Ainda nao tem unha por baixo, mas pelo menos a unha velha ja nao ta mais la. Ele chorou um bocado...dramatico! Mas depois eu disse que iria colocar outro band-aid ai ele disse "ok mama. Thank you!" e Foi tirar a soneca dele.

About a week before we came back home from Brazil, Ethan hurt his big toe at a friend's house. The top of a chair fell on his toe while he tried to climb up (it was loose!). It was pretty bad...his toe was swolen and the nail turned dark pretty fast. Poor thing cried himself to sleep. ..:( After we came back to USA, it started to heal and we could see that the nail was gonna come off. He was definatelly not very happy with his little "ouch". He would complain about it and ask for a band-aid all the time. Today...after such a long time, IT FINALLY CAME OFF. There isn't a new nail there yet, but it's growing. He started to cry(not because it hurt...i think he just got scared to see his nail off) but I told him I was gonna put another band-aid there and he said "ok mama, thank you!"
